Premier constat : les cultures de colza, bl\u00e9 et f\u00e8ves sont bien plus hautes qu&rsquo;en\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nathanpaulin.com\/2014\/12\/record-du-monde-601-metres-de-slackline-quand-tous-les-elements-sont-reunis\/\" target=\"_blank\">novembre dernier lors de notre record mondial sur601 m\u00e8tres<\/a>. Pas de temps \u00e0 perdre nous commen\u00e7ons le passage de la 725 m\u00e8tres. Pendant que certains avancent dans les hautes herbes, d&rsquo;autres scotchent les windstops et gardent la sangle plate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-K5npZ0jEUBk\/Vbs6LLVlGaI\/AAAAAAAADfk\/7P5GmmJscGc\/s640\/150616%2B725m%2Bmoonwalk%2B2%2B%25281280x853%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Nous sommes conscient que la cuvette n&rsquo;est pas assez profonde et qu&rsquo;il va \u00eatre difficile de passer au dessus des plants. Une fois la ligne pass\u00e9e, un groupe commence le passage de la 426 m\u00e8tres en polyester.<br \/>\nPendant ce temps une voiture part \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;un terrain plus appropri\u00e9 pour la grande ligne, en vain. Il fait beau et chaud, c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;heure de partager un taboul\u00e9 avant d&rsquo;attaquer la tension de la Moonwalk.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-z7GVhUKM8aI\/Vbs6R2cWfPI\/AAAAAAAADf8\/G3SyFDiAe5I\/s640\/150616%2Bmouflage%2Barmstrong%2Blinegrip%2B%25281280x853%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A l&rsquo;aide des quadruples poulies et d&rsquo;un camion, notre plus grande ligne du monde est soulev\u00e9e du sol. Dynamom\u00e8tre en main: objectif 2 tonnes de tension (Limite que nous nous sommes fix\u00e9e). Tout ce passe bien et nous faisons r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des pauses afin de laisser le temps aux fibres de se mettre en place. Apr\u00e8s plusieurs marche-arri\u00e8res, c&rsquo;est bon: 20 kN.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<p>Il est temps d&rsquo;aller tester la fl\u00e8che. Etant le plus lourd c&rsquo;est \u00e0 moi que reviens cette mission. Au point critique je suis dans le bl\u00e9 et les f\u00e8ves. Le record sur sangle hightech parait bien compromis mais nous ne d\u00e9sesp\u00e9rons pas, il y aura peut \u00eatre que ce passage de difficile.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-roS-x069Vz0\/Vbs6KXkBgJI\/AAAAAAAADfc\/_R5Z1AHNltA\/s640\/150616%2B725m%2Bmoonwalk%2B%25281280x853%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 La pluie et le vent arrivent, pas le temps de tenter une travers\u00e9e aujourd&rsquo;hui. Nous rentrons chez Nico qui va nous pr\u00e9parer un d\u00e9licieux filet mignon. Sur les conseils de Julien Millot, nous retournons au spot d\u00e9tendre la ligne pour la nuit.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Jour 2 : Pluie et vent<\/h3>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 Le temps est froid, humide et il y a du vent. Notre motivation l\u00e9g\u00e8rement entam\u00e9e, nous arrivons quand m\u00eame devant le champs en d\u00e9but de matin\u00e9e. Rod\u00e9 de la veille, la tension de la grande se fait vite pendant une \u00e9claircie. Une fois la ligne tendue, le vent et la pluie se l\u00e8vent, inutile d&rsquo;essayer. Nous d\u00e9tendons une seconde fois&#8230; Pendant ce temps une 203 m\u00e8tres en polyester pour le record f\u00e9minin \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 tendue.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-DYCi6JpvS8k\/Vbs6D7oWioI\/AAAAAAAADfM\/1h0_OAv0GsQ\/s640\/150516%2Bmimi%2Bguesdon%2B%25281280x853%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Sous la pluie battante une partie du groupe s&rsquo;en va en faire les courses. Les waterproofs en profitent pour finaliser l\u2019installation de la 430 en Maverick. Le vent est de plus en plus fort et nous voyons les 740 et 430 entrer en r\u00e9sonance avec des ondulations et une fl\u00e8che lat\u00e9rale \u00e9norme. Du jamais vu ! La 740 bouge tellement que les windstops se font arracher. Avant la nuit nous partons tous voir l&rsquo;\u00e9tat des lignes. Mimi marche une bonne partie de la 203 avant de faire un plongeon parfait dans les bl\u00e9s. Son dos a craqu\u00e9 mais plus de peur que de mal. La m\u00e9t\u00e9o est bonne, soleil et l\u00e9ger vent lat\u00e9ral. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe est au complet avec<a href=\"http:\/\/www.slack.fr\/inside-slack-qui-sommes-nous-id115.fr.html\" target=\"_blank\">Thibaut et Julien de Slack.fr<\/a>\u00a0que nous retrouvons au spot en d\u00e9but de matin\u00e9e. Les Jumpliners de la team sont aussi pr\u00e9sent pour un week-end en famille!<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 A premi\u00e8re vue pas de d\u00e9g\u00e2ts, les deux grandes sont toujours la. La 740 ondule encore en r\u00e9sonance \u00e0 cause du vent car presque tous les windstops on \u00e9t\u00e9 arrach\u00e9s. Il faut commencer par en scotcher de nouveaux sur les deux lignes avant de les tendres. Une fois ce travail effectu\u00e9, nous sommes compl\u00e8tement tremp\u00e9 apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 les champs. Mais les lignes ne bougent plus du tout.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Deux groupes se forment pour la tension des 430 et 740 m\u00e8tres. Pendant ce temps les filles s&rsquo;attaquent \u00e0 leur 201m <a href=\"http:\/\/laboutique.slack.fr\/collections\/sangles\/products\/maverick\" target=\"_blank\">Maverick (polyester)<\/a>. Avec les v\u00e9hicules on est efficace, Julien Millot se propose pour aller dans le champs tester les fl\u00e8ches des deux lignes qui sont assez proche. La Maverick est rapidement assez tendue pour que les plus l\u00e9ger ne soient pas trop dans les colzas. Quant-\u00e0 la moonwalk (Dyneema\/Polyester) elle est \u00e0 2 tonnes pour la troisi\u00e8me fois. Julien touche les f\u00e8ves mais pas le sol. Il ne faut pas tra\u00eener car la ligne perd rapidement sa tension, je me pr\u00e9pare pour un essai.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-MTQ91OGdezY\/Vbs6gHOZ3wI\/AAAAAAAADgw\/fVj4Qcbh9oM\/s400\/IMG_4914%2B%25281024x683%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Me voil\u00e0 au d\u00e9part, perch\u00e9 \u00e0 4 m\u00e8tres. En m\u00eame temps Theo Sanson est entrain de finir sa travers\u00e9e \u00e0 vue de l&rsquo;autre ligne. Je marche les 200 premiers m\u00e8tres le plus rapidement possible afin de perdre de la hauteur. Aucunes difficult\u00e9es, la ligne ne bouge pas. Malheureusement je perd la hauteur trop rapidement et me retrouve dans les bl\u00e9s. C&rsquo;est une certitude, on ne pourra pas traverser une longueur pareil avec si peu de fl\u00e8che. Je tombe alors que mes pieds sont pris entre la sangles et les \u00e9pis de bl\u00e9s.<\/div>\n<div>Bonne nouvelle \u00e0 cot\u00e9, Theo viens de passer le record du monde polyester (426m)! Nico lance : \u00ab\u00a0Elle a p\u00e9t\u00e9 !\u00a0\u00bb<\/div>\n<div>Effectivement nous observons plus tard que la sangle a cass\u00e9 de l&rsquo;autre cot\u00e9 \u00e0 quelques m\u00e8tres du banana. Lors de la rupture elle \u00e0 entra\u00een\u00e9 Julien sur un m\u00e8tre d\u00e9chirant sont pantalon et sa cuisse. Deux coupures moyennement profondes espac\u00e9es de exactement 2,5 centim\u00e8tres.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-xdUoae_czg4\/Vbs6m_QqN7I\/AAAAAAAADhQ\/eDP9fU8Amx8\/s400\/IMG_4981%2B%25281024x576%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p><i><br \/>\n<\/i><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><i>La MoonWalk install\u00e9e avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 tendu plusieurs fois \u00e0 20kN de tension auparavant pour le record du monde de 601m en Novembre 2014. Celle-ci avait \u00e9galement \u00e9norm\u00e9ment servi tout au long de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e \u00e0 la Team Slack. Elle ne comportait pas de signe de faiblesse particulier mais pr\u00e9sentait des signes d&rsquo;usures coh\u00e9rents avec son utilisation.\u00a0<\/i><i>La rupture semble avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 provoqu\u00e9e par plusieurs facteurs diff\u00e9rents :<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>-une installation en plein vent pendant 3 jours<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>-une tension tr\u00e8s importante (20kN) pour ce type d&rsquo;installation (725m), une cuvette trop petite (8m)<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>-une \u00e9lingue en t\u00eate d&rsquo;alouette comme windstopper qui a frott\u00e9 sur la sangle toute la nuit \u00e0 cause du vent, m\u00eame scotch\u00e9e (endroit de la rupture)<\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 Antony ne s&rsquo;\u00e9tant pas laiss\u00e9 d\u00e9concentr\u00e9 par la disparition de la Moonwalk termine sa travers\u00e9e, \u00e9galement \u00e0 vue, sur 426 m\u00e8tres devenant le second recordman polyester!<br \/>\nNous voil\u00e0 en milieu de journ\u00e9e avec une r\u00e9ussite et un \u00e9chec. Nous h\u00e9sitons entre tenter une ligne de 650 m\u00e8tres ou installer 300 m\u00e8tres hightech pour les filles. Finalement les deux projets sont avort\u00e9s \u00e0 cause de la hauteur des cultures. Apr\u00e8s 150 m\u00e8tres de colzas \u00e0 lever les jambes le plus haut possible et \u00e0 ne plus sentir la ligne sous mes pieds je tombe dans les f\u00e8ves. Impossible pour moi de traverser avec cette tension. A l&rsquo;aide des employ\u00e9s et du camion de\u00a0Slack.fr\u00a0nous la retendons \u00e0 1500 Kg. Je retourne alors sur la ligne et la traverse.<br \/>\nBilan de la journ\u00e9e: Nouveau record du monde polyester \u00e0 vue pour Theo, Antony et moi. Julien Millot qui p\u00e8te le record du monde hightech de 740 m\u00e8tres! Et les filles qui se sont bien battues mais n&rsquo;ont pas encore travers\u00e9 la 203 m\u00e8tres. C&rsquo;est le dernier jour, seul les filles et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/slackolique?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Cl\u00e9ment Fabre<\/a> ont encore des objectifs. Elles veulent traverser la 201 m\u00e8tres et lui la 426m.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/laure.millot.31?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\"> Laure Millot<\/a> et\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Mimi-guesdon\/508393039276672?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Mimi Guesdon<\/a> s&rsquo;acharnent sur la ligne.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-1nbX8p3-RRM\/Vbs6TtiCVQI\/AAAAAAAADgI\/W0dT2_0tpx4\/s640\/150616%2Bnathan%2Bpaulin%2B%25281280x853%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 De mon cot\u00e9 je voulais passer du temps sur la 426 en marchant le retour. Lors de la travers\u00e9e je fait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des fullexpos les bras ballant et deux demi tour au milieu. Quand j&rsquo;arrive au bout de la ligne Cl\u00e9ment me dit que je n&rsquo;y ai pass\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0que\u00a0\u00bb 25 minutes&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 Apr\u00e8s la pause sandwich a c\u00f4t\u00e9 du barbecue des chasseurs, Cl\u00e9ment\u00a0encha\u00eene\u00a0les essais en tombant quasiment toujours au m\u00eame endroit. Il ne traversera pas aujourd&rsquo;hui. Les filles n&rsquo;y parviennent pas non plus. Mimi restera encore Lundi matin mais chutera sur le dos, ce sera pour la prochaine fois.<\/p>\n<p>Juste avant le d\u00e9montage Th\u00e9o traverse lui aussi le retour de la 426m en\u00a0prenant\u00a0son temps : il met presque une heure. Nous la d\u00e9tendons sans probl\u00e8me laissant les arbres et cultures reprendre\u00a0possession\u00a0du terrain. Nous devons\u00a0maintenant\u00a0en trouver un nouveau pour tendre plus long.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 Ces quatre jours on \u00e9t\u00e9 intenses en installations, rebondissements et travers\u00e9es de lignes. First problem\u00a0: the colza and wheat crops are way higher than last time, when we set up the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.slack.fr\/2014\/11\/longline-world-record-dynema-nathan.html\" target=\"_blank\">601m longline world record<\/a>. No time to waste, we start the 725m longline setup. While some are evolving in the high grass, others tape the webbing with wind dampeners. We already know that the bowl is not deep enough and that it will be even more difficult to walk over the crops. Anyways, once this is done, some of us already start the 426m polyester longline. While some friends try to find a better spot for the mega-longline that would never be found, the weather is sunny, and we start to rig the Moonwalk in the early afternoon.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<p>Quadruple pulleys, one van to pull, the longest line ever rigged so far in the world gets off the ground. Our last chance limit, 2tons, the dynamometer regularly checked, everything goes pretty well. Once the 20kN reached, it&rsquo;s time for me to test the sag as I&rsquo;m the heaviest guy of the team. At worst, the line is locked down by the high grass. The record will be hard to break this way, but we will try anyways.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Rain and wind shut down the day before even giving it a try. We go back to Nico&rsquo;s headquarters, where he cooked a tremendous filet mignon.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Day 2\u00a0: Rain drops and wind gusts<\/h3>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Weather is cold, wet and windy. We are not really motivated, but we must give it a chance. With the van, rigging is fast and easy on the best weather window. Once rigged, winds rise up again, we have no chance in this weather, the best is to detension again, whereas the team sets up a 201m polyester for the girl record.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div>While some go shopping, the waterproof guys finish the 430m setup. The wind rise so much that both 426 and 725m ondulates so hard that wind dampeners are teared off the lines. We&rsquo;ve never seen that before\u00a0! Again we go home wet and empty-handed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The late afternoon program\u00a0: sleeping and card playing. Before the night, we check the webbing. Mimi nearly sends the 201m before plunging in the wheat. The back hurts, but big girls don&rsquo;t cry. Mimi is one of them.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Day 3 : Walk or break<\/h3>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Today is D-Day. Weather is good, sunny, with light lateral winds. The whole team is here, with Thibaut and Julien from Slack.fr just arriving. The 740m is still oscillating under the wind as nearly all the wind dampeners are gone. First thing to do, tape new ones again. The high grass are wet and soak our trousers, but lines are now flat and stable.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02 groups divide for van rigging the 426 and 726 meters, whereas the girls attempt to walk the 201m polyester. Julien Millot waits in the middle of both line, to test the sags. The polyester Maverick is quickly set for the light guys. The hybrid dyneema\/polyester Moonwalk is set at 2 tons for the third time, Julien touches the top of the high grass but not the ground. I have no time to waste and go for a try.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Here I am, 4 meter high over the ground, meanwhile Th\u00e9o ends succesfully a flash attempt on the 426m polyester line. I walk 200m rapidly to get closer to the ground. No problem technically speaking, unfortunately I walk rapidly on the wheat grass. Now it&rsquo;s sure I won&rsquo;t be able to cross such a longline with such a little sag. I fall down, my foot grabed between the wheat and the webbing.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"msg597609\" class=\"node list-selectable\">\n<div class=\"message\"><i>The Moonwalk had been set several times at 20kN, for the world record of 601m in November 2014. It had also been used a lot along the year by the Slack Team. It was visually checked before and showed no particular sign of weakness, but was of course showing sign of heavy use. The breaking seemed to be due by :\u200f<\/i><i><time>\u00a0<\/time>&#8211; 3 days of setup in strong winds\u200f<\/i><i>&#8211; a very high tension (20kN) for this type of length (725m), on such a little bowl (8m)\u200f<\/i><i>&#8211; a sling used as a wind dampener that may have caused friction during the night due to the winds, even taped (where the webbing snapped actually)<\/i><br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"msg597673\" class=\"node light list-selectable\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"msg597705\" class=\"node light list-selectable\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The good news is for Th\u00e9o, as he just established the polyester world record. Anthony Newton is now fighting on the 426m webbing. Right after my try, Julien wants to test a sit start in the middle of the 725m. While he&rsquo;s just seated on it, one foot one the webbing, the webbing silently disappears. Nico shoud\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0The line snapped\u00a0!\u00a0\u00bb. While snapping, the webbing tore apart Julien&rsquo;s pant and thigh. 2 long deep scars and burns. Anthony stays concentrated and finally flashes the 430m, becoming second recordman.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At noon, with one success and one fail, we hesitate between rigging a 650m monster or a 300m dyneema line for the girls. Finally both projects are abandonned as the crops are too high and make crossing too sketchy.<\/div>\n<div>Again as the heaviest guy, I start to walk the 426m but I am rapidly stick in the colza grassy web. Impossible for me to walk at such tension, so we rigged it again with the Slack.fr van helped by the guys at 15kN. The walk is done rapidly after. New onsight polyester world record for Th\u00e9o, Anthony and I. Along with Julien Millot world record of blasting the longest longline\u00a0ever with his butt ! The girls did their best but the 201m remained unwalked. The evening is time for Couscous dinner party\u00a0!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Day 4 : A beautiful sunday in may<\/h3>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Late Morning, 11 a.m. Last day for the girls and Cl\u00e9ment Fabre that have remaining projects. The girls focus on the 201m, while he stares at the 426m. Laure Millot and Marie-Am\u00e9lie Guesdon (Mimi) give their best on the line. My daily training was to cross the 426m again doing fullexpos regularly with no arms, turning in the middle. When I finally cross the way back, Cl\u00e9ment tells me it \u00ab\u00a0only\u00a0\u00bb took 25minutes&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mid-day sandwich along with hunters. Clement will not cross today, as he falls always at the same spot. Mimi will give up on monday after a bad fall on the back, they will come back.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Right before we unrig, Th\u00e9o does the way back on the 426m, slowly but surely in 1 hour. Now we leave the crops to their tranquility, and we need a longer spot to improve the record.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Those 4 days were intense with the setups, with unexpected events and many crossings. Many thanks to all the people coming during the weekend, and of course to Nico for the accomodation.
